Bulgarian Refugee Council BCR organized a seminar on “Access to territory and to refugee status determination procedure” held on 26-27 February 2009 in the town of Svilengrad.
At the seminar participated representatives from the Regional Administrative court – Haskovo, Border Police and Migration directorates of Ministry of Interiors, State agency for refugees, UNHCR, BRC, Bulgarian Helsinki Committee and others. Special guests of the event were Mrs. Trees Van Maatmen from The Dutch refugee council, Mrs. Jordanka Kostova, judge from the Supreme Administrative Court and Mr. Margarit Kamburov, Regional prosecutor-Svilengrad. Main topics, discussed during the event were the possibilities for cooperation and coordination between the governmental institutions and the NGOs in the field of asylum.
