Bulgarian Red Cross participates the Food Aid Programme

For the second consecutive year Bulgaria participated Food Aid Programme of the European Union.
The program is funded by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund, and Agricultural State Fund organizes the implementation and the procedures referred to the European and national legislation. The BRC is required to preserve, transport and distribute food products to vulnerable people across the country.
In 2009 in three tranches (6 – 24 July 2009; 13 – 28 August 2009 and 12 October – 6 November 2009) will be distributed 2 203 718 kg of rice, 2 280 000 kg of sugar and 1 852 098 kg of flour. During the first tranche each beneficiary will receive 2 kg of flour, 3 kg of rice and 3 kg of sugar.
