BRC teams participated in Breeze 2009
At the invitation of the Bulgarian Naval Forces Bulgarian Red Cross took part in the international training BREEZE 2009.
The training is organized for the 13th time with the participation of governmental bodies and NGOs - State Agency for Refugees (SAR), National Police, Border Police, National Fire Safety and Protection of Population Service, National Civil Protection Service, European emergency number - telephone 112, Executive Agency Maritime Administration, Port of Varna, Bulgarian Red Cross, etc.
The purpose of the training was to improve interoperability and cooperation between naval forces of the involved countries and interaction with other organizations in response to the different crisis.
Bulgarian Red Cross participated in four "incidents" - large fire in a building, fire on board, meeting the flow of refugees, search and rescue of victims at sea.
Volunteer teams of the Regional Council of BRC - Varna organized point for victims of both fires, where they rendered first aid and assisted transportation. Together with the SAR, they participated in the meeting of the refugees, and revealed a point for providing clothing, sanitation and hygiene materials, food and refreshing drinks. First national team for working in floods was involved in search and rescue at sea.
