The Exhibition Hall of the Central State Archive on Moskowska Str. attracted many people. The occasion was the opening of an exhibition of archival materials about the life and work of one extraordinary man - the eminent Norwegian academics, polar explorer, traveler and humanist Fridtjof Nansen.
The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Norway in Bulgaria, the Central State Archive, the UNHCR and the Bulgarian Red Cross for the 150th anniversary of the birth of the famous person.
The exhibition was opened by Professor Dr. Martin Ivanov - Chairman of the Central State Archive. Speech for Fridtjof Nansen, delivered the Ambassador of Norway in Bulgaria, his Excellency Mr. Tove Skarstein.
For the exceptional merits of Fridtjof Nansen, as UN High Commissioner for Refugees and prisoners of war, spoke Mrs. Milagros Leynes, UNHCR Representative in Bulgaria. The chairman of BRC, Mr. Hristo Grigorov recalled for the significant role of Fridtjof Nansen in the Bulgarian history. He suggested to be made the necessary steps to place monument, at the beginning of the street in Sofia, which is named after Nansen.
