The Bulgarian Red Cross expresses its deep concern over the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine into armed hosts.
The Bulgarian Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement - the largest global humanitarian network and is guided in its work by its fundamental principles: humanity impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
The Bulgarian Red Cross hopes for:
• quick resolution of the conflict,
• humane treatment of all human beings,
• protection of the most vulnerable - children, women, the sick and wonded, as well as journalists, medical and humanitarian personnel,
• prevention of human suffering and any manifestations of intolerance.
The Bulgarian Red Cross stands for compliance with and application of the norms of the International Humanitarian Law and fulfillment of the commitments made by the States by the ratification of the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and their Additional Protocols.
The Bulgarian Red Cross expresses its clear and unequivocal position that all political conflicts must be resolved by using peaceful, civilized and diplomatic means. We express our faith and hope for a quick resolution of the current crisis situation.
