Improving reception conditions

Main project activities:

• Daily social work in the SAR centers at the Council of Ministers and in the Integration and Information Center for Refugees of the Bulgarian Red Cross
• Conducting trainings in Bulgarian language level A1, A2 and B1
• Offering additional training for refugee children enrolled in Bulgarian schools
• Translation and legalization of documents
• Support for start-up refugee business - pilot project
• Social consultations, referral to other NGOs and accompaniment to state institutions
• Assistance in finding a job
• Assistance in registering a personal doctor, finding a home, enrolling children in Bulgarian schools and kindergartens, submitting an application for health insurance and identity documents
• Assistance with translation, accompaniment to medical facilities for medical examinations / interventions, purchase and provision of medicines, coverage of health care and health insurance costs, as well as the provision of one-off financial assistance (depending on available resources)
• Providing humanitarian aid in accordance with the available resources
• Mentoring program together with CVS-Bulgaria
• Conducting 10 information sessions among asylum seekers and refugees on rights and obligations, focusing on violence based on gender and human trafficking, as well as on the host society
• Organizing intercultural events for the host society, where they can meet and learn more about the culture of refugees
• Organizing seminars for refugee awareness raising on current topics

  • Conducting trainings in Bulgarian language and other professional and social courses in the Integration and Information Center for Refugees at the Bulgarian Medical Union
  • Conducting public campaigns
  • Conducting information sessions among refugees and asylum seekers
  • Social consultations and referrals to other NGOs and state institutions
  • Translation and legalization of documents
  • Offering additional training to refugee children enrolled in Bulgarian schools
  • Conducting open lessons on tolerance in schools in the country
  • Celebrate public events related to the target date group
  • Provision of translation services in the SAR centers at the Council of Ministers
  • Assistance for registration in the labor office, finding a job and organizing job exchanges in the Integration and Information Center for Refugees at the Bulgarian Medical Association
  • Assistance in registering a personal doctor, finding a home, enrolling children in Bulgarian schools and kindergartens, submitting applications for health insurance and identity documents
  • Assistance with translation, accompaniment to medical institutions for medical examinations / interventions, purchase and provision of medicines; covering the costs of health services and health insurance, as well as providing one-time financial assistance (depending on available resources)
  • Assistance in searching for relatives / re-establishing family ties (International Cooperation Directorate at the Bulgarian Red Cross)
  • Providing humanitarian aid in accordance with the available resources

Expected results:
  • 100 assisted persons with one-time financial assistance
  • 3000 persons, assisted and consulted in the centers of the State Agency for Refugees
  • Conducting 24 information sessions
  • 50 people included in the integration program
  • Coverage of health insurance for 25 people
  • Additional training for 10 refugee children enrolled in Bulgarian schools
  • 20 persons enrolled in a vocational training course
  • 50 persons enrolled in a Bulgarian language course
  • Translation and legalization of documents for 40 people
  • Providing quarterly public transport cards to 50 people
  • 25 refugee children accommodated in the ROC-Harmanli, included in a Bulgarian language course
  • Provided consultations and humanitarian aid to 1000 people
  • Conducting 20 lessons on tolerance in Bulgarian schools
