"Development and implementation of a mechanism for social mediation for access to social services for asylum seekers, recognized refugees and persons with humanitarian status with special needs"



Aim of the project
The aim of the project is to build a network of 10 social mediators from the refugee community to provide social mediation to vulnerable foreigners seeking protection, with refugee status or humanitarian protection, in the first 12 months of receiving protection.


Activities
  • informing the refugee communities about the project, developing criteria and selecting those wishing to train as social mediators;
  • introduction of mechanisms for social mediation through recruitment, training and networking of mediators from the refugee community;
  • development of professional qualifications and specific skills in support of the secondary integration of representatives of the refugee community and for the provision of social services during the initial stage of integration of newly recognized refugees from vulnerable groups;
  • providing special mechanisms to facilitate the communication of vulnerable persons with institutions in the field of health care, social care, municipalities or others related to integration into Bulgarian society;
  • providing specialized and intensive care through other refugees who are trained to work with state institutions, know the rights, obligations and opportunities in terms of health services, social assistance and social services, education, accommodation, vocational training and market access of labor.


Training
The project will take the form of a 10-day training, during which future social mediators will be trained in specific skills to support the communication of vulnerable people with state institutions, incl. institutions in the field of healthcare, social care, education, directorates "Labor Office", etc.


If you want to participate in the project, you must:
  • have refugee or humanitarian protection status
  • to be registered with the Labor Office as unemployed for more than a year
  • to speak Bulgarian
