IMPLEMENTATION OF A PARTICIPATING APPROACH TO PLANNING AND SUPPORT
The participatory approach is a fundamental institutional approach in the work of the Bulgarian Red Cross, which predetermines the successful impact of the organization on the social and life areas defined by its mission and vision. Based on the principles of broad participation, volunteering, partnership, competence development, efficiency and resource mobilization, the "Active Community Participation" approach creates preconditions for adequate behavior and active presence of the BRC. The positive trends in the process of applying the approach contribute both to the creation of an open model of work of the BRC structures by increasing their organizational capacity and to achieving lasting changes in local communities affecting the quality of life of vulnerable people. The units of the Bulgarian Red Cross, which practice the practice of attracting partners in the organization and planning of humanitarian projects, regularly report significant successes in establishing good practices and implementing sustainable programs to help those in need.
