The day care centers for the elderly in the cities of Plovdiv and Pernik provide a much sought after and highly social service in the community, in which caregivers are not separated from the family environment and have the opportunity to lead independent lives and integrate into society. In this way, the social isolation that people fall into after reaching working age is broken and the psychological barrier that makes them feel unnecessary is easier to overcome.
The opened day care centers for adults of the Bulgarian Red Cross provide a complex of social services that are tailored to their individual needs and provide an opportunity for comprehensive customer service during the day. They are related to the provision of food, meeting daily health, educational and rehabilitation needs, as well as needs related to the organization of leisure and social contacts. All activities are carried out in a cozy and pleasant atmosphere, in which under the guidance of various specialists are organized activities of interest (occupational therapy, culture, music, psychotherapy, floriculture, herbalism, etc.), which are suitable for the elderly. Excursions to nearby settlements and historical sites are organized, as well as celebrations of various Christian holidays.
Those wishing to visit the centers submit documents to the relevant Regional Organizations of the Bulgarian Red Cross in the cities of Plovdiv and Pernik.
