The tenth anniversary edition of the national conference on e-health "Innovative model for sustainable and modern health" brought together representatives of state institutions, MPs, specialists from state, municipal and private health institutions and health insurance companies. The event was traditionally supported by the European Commission, Health, the Ministry of Health, the National Health Insurance Fund, the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Bulgarian Medical Union and the Bulgarian Red Cross.
On behalf of the Bulgarian Red Cross, the Deputy Director General Dr. Nadezhda Todorovska participated as a lecturer with a presentation on "Improving access to medical services in the community with the help of new technologies." She presented the first results of the joint project between the Bulgarian Red Cross and CheckPoint Cardio for remote telemonitoring of the cardiac condition of patients at the Home Care Centers in Vratsa, established under the project "Home Care for Independent and Dignified Life". It is the functioning of these centers and the teams working in them that allow on the basis of new technologies to be upgraded with an innovative type of services medical services in the community. The specially created telemedicine modules are placed on patients by the teams of the Home Care Centers, and after the conclusions received from the CheckPoint Cardio Medical Center, additional consultations with a cardiologist are organized. The ongoing monitoring is of great importance, especially for those living in small settlements, who in most cases are deprived of the opportunity to receive adequate medical care.
In the session "Practice through the prism of technological innovation" Dr. Rudenko Yordanov - Director of the Ruse regional organization of the Bulgarian Red Cross, and Antoaneta Yabanozova - Chief Specialist "Youth and Social Activities", aroused the interest of participants with a presentation on the pilot implementation of the electronic system for volunteer management of the Bulgarian Red Cross. Such a system allows, on the one hand, to invest time and resources in a modern way to promote and develop volunteering at all levels, and on the other - the organization has a reliable database through which at any time knows how much and with what volunteers it has, where they are and what is the fastest way to mobilize them. This creates even better opportunities for quick and coordinated reactions in extreme situations, when the difficult task of making quick and correct decisions is on the agenda in order to achieve maximum efficiency.
