This is a traditional activity of the Bulgarian Red Cross. The choice of health issues takes into account the interests and needs of people from each region, as well as the preferences of different groups of the population. The efforts of the Bulgarian Red Cross to disseminate health knowledge and culture are in line with the National Health Strategy and the National Programs for Combating Socially Significant Diseases: Cardiovascular, Oncological, Diabetes, Trauma, HIV / AIDS, Tuberculosis, Addiction, etc.
The BRC participates in various information campaigns and awareness-raising initiatives, such as the harmful effects of smoking and alcohol consumption, sexual health promotion and HIV / AIDS prevention, the reduction of injuries and accidents, the promotion of voluntary and gratuitous blood donation, etc.
The cooperation and coordination between the Bulgarian Red Cross and state and non-governmental institutions and organizations with regard to the prevention and promotion of health contributes to increasing the protection of health in the Community.
