The Refugee-Migrants Service of the Bulgarian Red Cross, UNHCR project "Advocacy and lobbying for the integration of refugees in Bulgaria" performs monthly monitoring of reception centers for refugees to the State Agency for Refugees in Pastrogor, Svilengrad, and Banya-Nova Zagora, and the Special Center for Temporary Accommodation of Foreigners, directorate "Migration" of MI in Lyubimets.
The number of Syrian citizens, seeking asylum in Bulgaria and living in these centers, is growing. Currently the transit center accommodated 196 people, including 25 women and 45 children. There will be two births, as well. The number of the Syrian citizens is 88. The situation is similar at the center in Lyubimets. More than half of the 50 people, staying in the village of Banya, are Syrians. In connection with the increased migratory pressure, BRC provided for the State Agency for Refugees a grant - 150 inflatable beds, 200 bed sheets, 100 pillows and pillow-cases, 100 blankets.
To meet the increased needs and demands in Pastrogor, the District Council of the Red Cross in the center of Haskovo, donated medicines worth 491 leva/s and second hand clothes for the autumn-winter season.
Under the same project, a monitoring is taking place in Sofia, as well – at The Registration and Reception Center at the State Agency for Refugees in Ovcha Kupel and at the center in Busmantsi.
