According to regulations, there can be only one national body with the logo "Red Cross" or "Red Crescent".
In infringement of the Geneva Conventions from 12.08.1949, and their additional protocols from 08.06.1977 and the Law on the Bulgarian Red Cross, Targovishte District Court with Decision №29 from 28.04.2009 has registered a non-profit association "Bulgarian Red Crescent". According to regulations, there can be only one national body with the logo "Red Cross" or "Red Crescent".
Bulgarian Red Cross alerted competent state institutions such as General Prosecutor, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Justice and the district prosecutor of Targovishte to resolve the case and expect immediate action from them for avoidance of the Association Bulgarian Red Crescent and to stop the illegal use of one of the distinctive emblems of the International Movement of Red Cross and Red Crescent.
