On 23 February 2021 at 11.30 a.m. the Bulgarian Red Cross founded a Contact Support Center in the secretariat of the Regional Council of the Bulgarian Red Cross-Plovdiv. It has a toll-free national telephone number 08001 1466, through which citizens can contact the BRC consultants free of charge and confidentially. They will provide information about the activities of the Bulgarian Red Cross and the current anti epidemic measures.
The center is part of the BRC program "Activities in Response to COVID-19", funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. This is another technological step of the organization in aim to help the Bulgarian population in coping with stress and the consequences of the pandemic of COVID-19. A national chat for first psychological aid can also be found on the website of the Bulgarian Red Cross, which is available to all citizens.
Through the new contact center all the people in need of support can contact the Bulgarian Red Cross on the national telephone number 08001 1466. It is free of charge and is accessible to anyone across the country. It is implemented with the support of the mobile operator VIVACOM within the company's participation in the BRC Care Partner Network.
"Our task as an organization is to reach as many citizens affected by the pandemic as possible. The Contact Center in Plovdiv is another way in which we will more easily achieve this goal and we are very happy to announce the beginning of its activities. We believe in the experience of our consultants and we call on everyone who needs to share their concerns to contact us", said Acad. Hristo Grigorov – Chairman of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
