The Bulgarian Red Cross expresses its deep concern over the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and its escalation into hostilities.
The Bulgarian Red Cross is part of the International Red Cross Movement - the largest humanitarian network in the world and is guided in its work by its basic principles : neutrality, humanity, impartiality, independence, voluntariness, unity and universality.
The Bulgarian Red Cross hopes for:
• quick resolution of the conflict,
• humane treatment of all human beings,
• providing protection for the most vulnerable - children, women, the sick and injured, as well as journalists, medical and humanitarian personnel,
• prevention and prevention of human suffering and manifestations of intolerance.
The Bulgarian Red Cross is for compliance with and application of the norms of the International Humanitarian Law and fulfillment of the commitments made by the states at ratification of the Geneva Conventions of 1949 and the Additional Protocols to them.
The clear and categorical position of the Bulgarian Red Cross is to resolve all political conflicts in a peaceful, civilized and diplomatic way. We express our faith and hope for a speedy end to the current crisis situation.
