BRC AND SOFIA WORLD METROPOLITATION WILL COOPERATE
IN SUPPORT OF VICTIMS OF THE CONFLICT IN UKRAINE

The Bulgarian Red Cross (BRC) and the Sofia Holy Metropolis will cooperate in helping the victims of the conflict in Ukraine, within the National Charitable Campaign of the BRC. That is why the leadership of the Bulgarian Red Cross and the Bishop of Belogradchik Polycarp, Vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia, united during a working meeting.

The Orthodox Church is a traditional partner of the Bulgarian Red Cross in the implementation of a number of humanitarian causes in support of vulnerable people in crisis situations. This was shared at the beginning of the meeting by the Director General of the Bulgarian Red Cross, Prof. Krassimir Gigov . For his part, Bishop Polycarp thanked the Bulgarian Red Cross for its quick response in organizing assistance for the victims in Ukraine. He added that with the blessing of His Holiness the Metropolitan of Sofia and Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte, the Charity and Charity Department of the Sofia Metropolitan, launched a donation campaign to raise funds for the victims. Thus, the Sofia Diocese joins the efforts of the Bulgarian Red Cross to help the victims. The Holy Metropolis of Sofia will also provide accommodation for about 80 refugees from Ukraine in some of the monasteries in the Sofia Diocese. Donation collection boxes will be placed in 46 churches and in the Diocese . All funds raised from the donation campaign will be donated to the Bulgarian Red Cross to help the victims of the conflict.
