BCC PROVIDED MATERIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE FLOOD-AFFECTED RESIDENTS

The Bulgarian Red Cross provided 200 sleeping sets, 200 blankets and 1,000 litres of disinfectant from its disaster reserve for the flood victims in the municipality of Karlovo. In the municipality of Kaloyanovo, where a partial state of emergency was also declared, the Bulgarian Red Cross provided mineral water for 500 people. For the needs of the most affected settlements, the long-standing partner of the Bulgarian Red Cross - Devin EAD, provided 5 tons of mineral and spring water.

Bulgarian Red Cross teams remain on the territory of Karlovo municipality to provide support to all those in need, in coordination with the local authorities.

The Bulgarian Red Cross is monitoring the alarming situation in the Plovdiv region and is fully prepared to assist the population and the institutions.

Representatives of the Bulgarian Red Cross-Razgrad were in the village of Tsar Kaloyan, where the situation is also alarming because of the heavy rain. Red Cross staff visited three needy families who have everything they need at this time.Today, the Bulgarian Red Cross team will be in Tsar Kaloyan village to assess the specific needs of the flood-affected residents.
