From June 20 to 22, 2023 , a joint exercise of 15 mountain rescuers was held with military personnel from the "Search and Rescue" department of the 24th air base - Krumovo.
The classes during the first two days included theoretical training and familiarization with the specifics of working with the machines, and after passing an exam, all rescuers were issued a permit to carry out landing and evacuation with the on-board winch of an AS 532 "Cougar" helicopter. Hands-on training on the third day included landing and evacuating a casualty using a stretcher and the helicopter's on-board winch.
The exercise was held on the basis of the long-term cooperation that the two structures have and will help the successful coordination and teamwork of the crews from the 24th aviation base - Krumovo and the Mountain Rescue Service of the BRC in the execution of future search and rescue tasks and medical evacuation.
