Една година след опустошителното земетресение в Република Турция и Република Сирия

Just a week ago, it was one year since the devastating earthquake that rocked the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Syria and claimed over 50,000 lives. The tragedy united the whole world in support of those in need. In the face of devastation, we have all witnessed the power of humanity and humanitarian action.

Bulgaria became the first country from the European Union to get involved with teams on the ground that arrived in Turkey that evening. Among them was a search and rescue team of 12 people with 5 dogs from the Mountain Rescue Service of the BRC.

Thanks to the responsiveness of the Bulgarian society, to the thousands of individual and corporate donors , the BRC transferred financial funds to the two affected countries and provided additional humanitarian aid to cover the initially stated needs for material donations.
