Promoting the role of volunteers and the population in Civil Protection (ProVoice)
Background
In today's time of more frequent and long-lasting disasters and crises, the project aims to strengthen cooperation between neighboring countries and countries participating in the European Union's Civil Protection Mechanism in the field of disaster volunteer management, spontaneous volunteering and awareness-raising. population for disaster preparedness.
Goals and tasks
- Improve volunteer management procedures and strengthen the capacity of volunteer leaders and disaster response teams in the three target countries
- To develop guidelines (at organizational and political level) for the organization of spontaneous and non-committed volunteers
- Use existing tools developed in the countries participating in the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism to raise public awareness
Main results and activities
- 10 to 15 volunteer disaster management teams in each of the target countries will be trained to manage volunteers (30-45 people in total)
- 3-5 disaster teams in each of the target countries will be established and / or supported with equipment and training (9-15 teams in total)
- Guidelines (at organizational and political level) for spontaneous volunteers will be developed for each target country
- A community exercise with at least 60 participants will be held in each country, with the aim of raising public awareness of disaster preparedness (180 in all countries)
