The Italian Red Cross is hosting the 9th European Conference of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to be held in Florence from the 3rd to the 6th June 2014, gathering 53 National Societies.
The Delegation of the Bulgarian Red Cross is led by the President of the BRC Mr. Hristo Grigorov , the President of the Bulgarian Red Cross Youth and a member of the National Council of the BRC Mr. Kristian Penyashki, the Director General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Krasimir Gigov and the Deputy Director General Dr. Nadezhda Todorovska.

Among the main topics of the Conference are the new aspects of migration, food security, new types of vulnerability related to poverty and the consequences of the economic crisis in Europe.

On a separate session, Dr. N. Todorovska will present an overview of the migration in Bulgaria and the role of the Bulgarian Red Cross in supporting the state and the institutions working with migrants, as well as the efforts of the humanitarian organization for improving the living conditions and integration of the asylum seekers, aiming at reducing and preventing human suffering and protection of the human dignity.
