BRC actively assisted with the humanitarian aid for Macedonia
The Bulgarian Government provided humanitarian Aid for the Republic of Macedonia to overcome the consequences of the disaster from 6 and 7 August.
The humanitarian aid included tents, camp-beds, gumboots, cable nets, spades, hooks, buckets, disinfectants, mineral water, etc. The total value of the aid, provided by the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Health and other governmental institutions as well as from the BRC was nearly 120 000 BGN.

„Having in mind the difficult situation after the flood in Skopje, and the appeal of the Republic of Macedonia, our government took a decision to provide assistance. We have provided all the aids our colleagues asked for”, said the Chief Commissar Nikolay Nikolov, Director of the Chief Directorate Fire Safety and Civil Protection. He stressed on the great cooperation of the Bulgarian Red Cross in prompt delivery of the humanitarian aid to Skopje.

The three trucks with humanitarian aid are already in the Republic of Macedonia.

Providing the humanitarian aid is an expression of solidarity of Bulgaria with the tragedy in the Republic of Macedonia. Our country was the first one sending the Rescue Teams to Skopje, on the following day after the disaster, to support the local authorities and the population.
